Terms & Conditions

This is the boring but important bit. Grab a cup of tea...

The following terms and conditions govern the use of the bookish website and outline the legal responsibilities and obligations that shall exist between you and bookish ltd (hereafter also referred to as "bookish", "we", "our" and "us"). By placing an order on this website you are deemed to have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.

Placing An Order

When you place an order with bookish you undertake that any and all information you provide is accurate and complete.

All orders are subject to acceptance and stock availability. Once you have placed an order bookish will send you a confirmation email to inform you that your order has been received. This is not confirmation that your offer to purchase the items has been accepted. Only once an order has been despatched to you will a contract exist between you and bookish. A separate email will be sent to you to confirm that your goods have been despatched.

You will be charged for the full value of the goods when you place your order. If for any reason we are unable to fulfill your order we will refund you as soon as practically possible and in any case, within 7 days. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Prcies and availability of products are subject to change without notice. The advertised delivery charge will be added to your order value as appopriate.

Product Descriptions & Availability

We try to provide you with a really good idea of what our products are like, both through the blurb we scribble out about them and also through the photographs we use. However, due to the nature of photography and the visual display of different computers and screens, sometimes slight colour variations might occur. All products are offered subject to availability at the time of ordering. We try to maintain high levels of stock so that we always have what you want when you want it, but sometimes we get a rush on things and we run out. Should an item go out of stock between the placement of your order and order fulfillment we will get in touch with you as quickly as possible to let you know.

Special Offers & Promotions

Unless otherwise stated, special offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion. If any promotion is valid for orders over a certain amount, that amount only concerns the price of acutal goods ordered and does not include the cost of delivery.

If a free gift is added to orders over a certain amount and items are returned so that the order is then under the threshold amount applicable for the promotion then the free gift(s) must be returned in their original condition or it/they will be charged at the advertised amount.

All orders are usually despatched within 24 hours of order acceptance, stock permitting, to arrive with UK customers within 2-3 working days. By their nature, some bespoke orders may take considerably longer to be fulfilled.

In the event that an item is temporarily out of stock, bookish will notify you and advise on expected date of despatch.

The stated delivery period within which you should receive your order is approximate. Your order will be sent to the delivery address given by you with your order placement. If you are ordering more than one product, items may be despatched to you in installments e.g. in the case where certain items are out of stock. In this case, you will only be charged a single delivery charge.

If your delivery address us outside of the UK, you may be subject to your country's import duties and taxes and you must meet these, and any additional charges, for customs clearance. International shipments may be subjected to cross-border and country specific customs checks. We advise you to contact your local customs office for further information.

You may return any product within 14 days of receipt for refund or exchange as long as those products have any original tags attached and are unopened in the original packaging, and in the case of clothing, are unworn and unwashed and in the case of jewellery, are unworn.

For all returns, except where the product is faulty or not as ordered, you must arrange and pay for the return of the items to us. We advise you to obtain proof of postage as we cannot accept responsibility for returned items that fail to reach us.

In the case of faulty returns, please contact us and we will send you a pre-paid / freepost envelope for the return of the goods.

You may normally cancel with contact in writing within seven days of receiving the order. If you cancel the contract within this time, any payments made by you will be refunded in full within 30 days. If the items have already been dispatched then you will be required to return the items as per our returns policy.

Payment & Taxes

We accept online payment in a secure environment by PayPal. All prices quoted throughout the bookish website are in British pounds sterling and where appropriate, are inclusive of VAT.
